Privacy Policy

What the extension accesses

• Clipboard (read): the clipboard is read only when you click the extension icon, solely to extract the IOC you copied so it can be looked up. The clipboard is never read in the background, on a timer, or on page load.
• Selected text: if you use the right-click “Check on VirusTotal” menu, the text you selected is used for the lookup.
• API keys: the VirusTotal and APIVoid API keys you enter in Options.

Where data is sent

• The IOC you look up is sent to virustotal.com (always) and to api.apivoid.com (only if you enable the IPVoid option and provide an APIVoid key). It is sent for the sole purpose of retrieving the reputation report you requested.
• Your VirusTotal API key is sent only to virustotal.com; your APIVoid key only to api.apivoid.com. Keys are never sent anywhere else.

What is stored

• Your API keys and display preferences (theme, enabled fields) are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. They never leave your machine except as described above.
• The extension has no server of its own. Nothing is collected, logged, or transmitted to the developer.
